Haridwar, 25 Jul: Amid the ongoing CJAP (Cockroach Janata Party) movement in Delhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tendered his resignation, while Uttarakhand’s former Chief Minister and Haridwar BJP MP Trivendra Singh Rawat termed such movements extremely harmful for the nation and society. He said these agitations have no guiding leadership and never yield any constructive outcome.
Rawat, who was in Haridwar during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, held the opposition’s rigid stance responsible for the disruption of proceedings. He remarked that what transpired was not appropriate, though he expressed unawareness about Pradhan’s resignation. He added that such movements often drift aimlessly and carry the potential to cause serious damage to the country.
Speaking on the CJAP agitation, Rawat reiterated that movements without leadership are dangerous as their spread cannot be predicted and they rarely lead to positive conclusions, ultimately harming the nation and society. He stressed that the absence of leadership ensures such protests cannot sustain for long, and the outcome is invariably detrimental.
On the failure of Parliament to function, Rawat criticised the opposition for its obstinate approach, stating that the government was fully prepared for discussion for as many days as required. He pointed out that the Speaker had repeatedly appealed to the opposition, but they themselves did not want the House to run.
Rawat further said that examinations are conducted by an independent body, whose chairman and secretary have already been removed, with several employees under scrutiny. He observed that students, owing to their limited age and experience, may not grasp the complexities, but those in leadership positions who claim to represent the nation must understand the gravity of the situation.
