Dehradun, 22 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today hailed the cabinet‘s decision to reserve 33 percent of the posts of members of the management committee and chairperson in cooperative societies for women of the state. Terming the decision as historic, Dhami observed that this is a major initiative of the state government towards women empowerment. He added that the government is fully committed to empowerment of women and respect of women is a tradition in the state.
The CM said that several past decisions like provision of 30 percent reservation for women in government jobs, several schemes including Mukhyamantri Naari Empowerment Scheme, Lakhpati Didi Scheme and Mukhyamantri Aanchal Amrit Scheme are making women empowered and self-reliant.
