Champawat, 31 Aug: Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the famous Bagwal fair held at Maa Varahi Dham located at Devidhura in Champawat district here today. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami prayed for the prosperity of the state by offering prayers as per rituals at Maa Varahi temple and witnessed the famous stone war played between Char Kham Saat Thok at Maa Varahi Dham.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhami said that this place is as spiritually rich as it is naturally beautiful. This supernatural land has not only had historical importance but also mythological importance. He said that majority of the historical fairs (Melas) in the state are aimed at awakening the common people about the greatness of culture and this historical fair of Bagwal is also a unique example of this. This type of fair not only promotes the folk culture and folk traditions but also promotes folk artists. It is the duty of everyone concerned to preserve this heritage. He said that fairs also play an important role in uniting society and making the new generation aware about the ancient culture and traditions.
The CM said that at present, there is a government with a strong leadership in the country, which every country of the world is eager to stand with. On one hand, the country is currently presiding over a powerful group like G-20, on the other hand, most countries are also supporting India for a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council. Today the countries of the world are following Indian policies. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the country is moving towards a world power and world guru. Like the Kedarnath section, the government is moving towards building the Manas Khand corridor in Kumaon, under which all the ancient temples of the Kumaon region are being developed. Almost all the temples of Champawat are also included under the Manaskhand temple chain.
Earlier, on his arrival at Devidhura, Dhami inspected the government stalls of various departments set up at the fair venue. Seeking information from the officials, he directed that the benefits of various development schemes of the government should reach every person. He asked all the officers to work promptly.
On Thursday, morning prayers were offered by the head priest at Maa Barahi Dham Devidhura Kholikhand Duvachod ground of Pati block. One by one the Bagwalis of all the four Khamas and seven Thoks arrived. On this occasion, CM Dhami made several announcements including upgradation of the primary health centre from Type A to Type B after testing its standards. Upgradation of facilities, deployment of ambulance and improvement of residential complex will be done in Primary Health Centre at Devidhura were also announced by him.
On this occasion, former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari also visited Maa Barahi and wished for the prosperity of the state and addressed the public. On this occasion, District Panchayat President Jyoti Rai, BJP District President Nirmal Mahra, Block Chief Sumanta, former MLA Puran Singh Fartyal, Varahi Mandir Committee Patron Laxman Singh Lamgadia, District Magistrate Navneet Pandey, Superintendent of Police Devendra Pincha and public representatives from various areas were present.
