DEHRADUN, 23 Nov: Reacting to the resounding victory of BJP candidate Asha Nautiyal in the Kedarnath Byelection, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has described this as a victory of development and of Sanatan. Issuing a statement, the Chief Minister stated that he pays obeisance to Baba Kedar and thank all the nationalist people of Kedarnath Vidhan Sabha for making the BJP’s popular candidate Nautiyal victorious. He asserted that this victory, the BJP has got in Kedarnath Vidhan Sabha is the victory of the people, the victory of the organisation, the victory of the workers, the victory of Modi, the victory of development and the victory of nationalism.
Dhami also noted that this victory is the rejection and the defeat of regionalism, casteism and also of the baseless allegations levelled by the Opposition against the BJP government as well as against him personally. He asserted that this government will continue the work of awakening the spirit of development in the entire Uttarakhand including Kedarnath Vidhan Sabha in the same way and will keep working continuously to fulfil the option less resolution of making Uttarakhand the best state in the country.
Along with Dhami, the party workers are also overjoyed with the victory in the Kedarnath. While the workers started celebrating, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the public by doing a road show. He stated that the public has stamped development by giving a blow to negativity. After the landslide victory in the Kedarnath byelection, Dhami attended the victory rally organised in Dehradun. He said that now in elections, voters do not hesitate to give mandate to the working governments again instead of negative campaigning. Dhami said that for this byelection, the Congress completely focused on negative issues. From regionalism to casteism, the stakes were openly played, but the voters, rejecting all kinds of negative propaganda, have stamped the development work of the BJP government at the Centre and the state for the entire Yatra route from Kedarnath Dham.
Chief Minister Dhami said that the Congress campaign in the Kedarnath Assembly byelection was mainly focused on diverting the Char Dham Yatra towards Kainchi Dham, connecting the temple being built by a trust in Delhi to Kedarnath Dham, raising questions on the gold donated to the Kedarnath temple, as well as pitting the two major castes of the hills against each other.
