Dehradun, 1 Mar: At a Gurukul kind of a ceremony, tribal students belonging to several NE states and Uttarakhand were given awards for excellence in academics, sports and social action by Col Rohit Shrivastava, CO, Eco Task Force, at ITITI- Doon Sanskriti School, Jhajhra, the tribal centre inaugurated by former Prime Minister Vajpayee.
On this occasion, a number of dignitaries were present from UCOST, retired armed personnel and academicians.
Col Shrivastav appreciated the scintillating cultural performances by students and lauded the efforts of teachers in shaping young minds with patriotism and love for motherland. He exhorted the students to shine in any field of their choice and always keep the honour of the nation as supreme in their heart. He said it is heartening to see that this unique school displays the portraits of Param Vir Chakra soldiers prominently on its campus to inspire students to respect soldiers and join the armed forces.

Gau Seva – Birsa Munda First Prize; Arts and Craft Competition – Kutung Loffa; Most Disciplined Student – Bimal Tripura.
