150 seats for MBBS course approved at Graphic Era Medical College

Dehradun, 11 July: Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions Dr Kamal Ghanshala today addressed a press conference at Graphic Era Hospital after its formal accreditation as a medical college with 150 seats in the MBBS course. Dr Ghanshala informed the media that the treatments at Graphic Era Hospital are being linked with artificial intelligence and data science. New technologies from around the global and super speciality services have given new heights to Graphic Era Hospital in a very short span of time.
Ghanshala said that, in its first inspection, the National Medical Commission found that Graphic Era Hospital (Graphic Era Group of Institutions) met all the required standards. It approved the MBBS course in the medical college for the year 2024-25. He added that due to new technologies from across the globe and experienced specialists in Graphic Era Hospital, treatment of complex diseases and rare operations, a new path for saving lives has opened. Operations are also being done here which were never done in Uttarakhand before. The people of Uttarakhand and nearby states are getting benefits of an ultra modern cath lab, three Tesla MRI machines, 128 slice CT scan and other equipment of latest technology.
Dr Ghanshala said that Graphic Era Hospital has bridged the gap by incorporating state of the art infrastructure and advanced equipment along with highly experienced specialists. He added that, over the past four years, the university has secured a place among top 100 universities of the country. Graphic Era Deemed University was ranked 55th in the country by Central Government in the year 2023. Established as a part of it, Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences is also on its way to achieving new heights. Due to Centre’s direct control over Deemed University, the allocation of MBBS seats in Graphic Era Hospital will be done through Central Counselling by the Central Government’s Medical Counselling Committee.
He said that Graphic Era Hospital will be connected by air ambulance so that people residing in inaccessible rural areas can also get emergency health services. For this purpose, a helipad will also be established in the campus. Along with this, a hospital with 200 beds will be established in Bhimtal to provide Ayush health services.
Earlier, Dr Kamal Ghanshala and Vice Chairperson Rakhi Ghanshala were welcomed by the doctors and the faculty members when they reached the Graphic Era Hospital for the function today.
The Chairman and Vice Chairperson also cut a huge cake on the occasion. Addressing the doctors at the seminar today, Dr Ghanshala stressed on including emotions and human feelings in healthcare services.
On this occasion, Dr Satish Ghanshala of Graphic Era Educational Society, Dean of Medical College Dr Nitin Bansal, Director Dr Punit Tyagi, Professor Dr Krishna Prasad, Medical Superintendent Dr Amit Varma, Consultant Dr Kamlesh Kohli, Director, Infrastructure, Dr Subhash Gupta, Dr Anupam Agarwal and other officials were among those present.
