CM inaugurates Oho Radio 89.2 FM in Dehradun

Dehradun, 3 Aug: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today inaugurated Oho Radio 89.2 FM at Ballupur in Dehradun. The FM Radio Station has been launched by well-known Radio Jockey (RJ) Kavya. On this occasion, the CM observed that the radio continues to be an extremely effective medium for public communication, public awareness and social consciousness even today.
Dhami also expressed confidence that Oho Radio would play an important role in creating social awareness and that it would promote positive dialogue and pick up issues of public interest to different sections of society. The CM said that radio remains an important medium of information, education and entertainment with the ability to reach the last person in society and has played a significant role in effectively disseminating information relating to the government’s public welfare schemes, social concerns, disaster management, health, education, environmental conservation and other important subjects among the people.
The CM also asserted that the state government is continuously working through various communication platforms to provide national recognition to Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, folk languages, folk arts, folk music and local talent. He said that despite the digital age, radio has retained its credibility and relevance and continues to be an effective means of connecting with people.
Dhami said that the Community and FM radio stations have a vital role in highlighting local issues, promoting positive news and encouraging greater public participation. He expressed the hope that Oho Radio 89.2 FM would emerge as an effective medium for spreading positive thinking, constructive dialogue and messages in the public interest, while making a significant contribution towards giving a new identity to Uttarakhand’s development and cultural richness.
MLA Savita Kapoor and RJ Kavya of Oho Radio were also present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that RJ Kavya was earlier running Oho Radio through an App and is also well known and respected as an anchor and master of ceremonies in the state including top government level events.
