Dehra Dun, 19 Jun: Congress workers across Uttarakhand celebrated the birthday of party leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, with great fervour and enthusiasm, responding to the instructions issued in this regard by State Congress President Karan Mahara. The celebrations were marked by goodwill gestures and public outreach under the banner of “Mohabbat Ki Dukan”.
In Dehradun, the Metropolitan Youth Congress, led by Metropolitan Youth Congress President Mohit Mehta Moni, set up a sherbet stall to serve refreshing sherbet to the public. The event witnessed the participation of Karan Mahara, State Vice President SK Dhasmana, and a large number of Congress workers and office-bearers.
On the occasion, Karan Mahara extended heartfelt birthday wishes to Rahul Gandhi and lauded his continuous efforts to revive the Congress party and galvanise the INDI Alliance. Reminding those present about the significance of the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Mahara claimed that these movements rekindled the spirit of activism within the party and brought fresh momentum to its ideological vision. He expressed confidence that Gandhi’s leadership would energise the newly elected MPs in Parliament and asserted that the Congress would once again form governments, both, at the Centre and in the state.
Mohit Mehta described Rahul Gandhi as an inspiration for the youth, praising his ‘steadfast resolve in the face of political adversity’. He noted that despite the aggressive political narrative driven by the BJP and its allies, Gandhi has remained committed to spreading a message of love, inclusivity, and unity. Mehta also highlighted the symbolic significance of Gandhi’s 4,000 kilometres long padayatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, calling it a testament to his unwavering dedication to national integration.
The event also witnessed participation of State Youth Congress Vice President Naveen Ramola, former NSUI Vice President Ritesh Chhetri, Youth Congress Vice President Vineet Prasad Bhatt, General Secretary Robin Tyagi, State Spokesperson Abhinav Thapar, SC Department President Madan Lal, District Incharge Gaurav Sagar, Assembly Speaker Kartik Birla, and several other party members including Abhishek Mehta, Tanishq Dhaka, and Vanas Kumar.
