Dehradun, 19 Sep: Uttarakhand Congress Chief Spokesperson Garima Mehra Dasauni has fiercely attacked BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt for “continuously making statements against Congress MLAs”. She was reacting to the statement issued by Mahendra Bhatt against Congress MLA Madan Bisht, whose video while threatening an Engineering College Director is currently viral on social media.
Dasauni asked BJP State President Bhatt to tell how many of his party leaders or MLAs or Municipal Corporators had disciplinary action taken against them for violating the law. She was referring to the demand made by Bhatt to the Congress to take disciplinary action against Madan Bisht. Dasauni sought to remind that “six Municipal councillors from BJP had attacked the house of a businessman, Praveen Bhardwaj, in Ansal Green Valley, his wife was dragged on to the road by her hair, and one councillor even carried petrol in a bottle.”
She further claimed that Bhardwaj’s house was vandalised due to which the entire family is in shock till today. No action was taken against the councillors and, on the contrary, a case under Section 307 was filed against Praveen Bhardwaj, she claimed.
Dasauni also sought to remind that Cabinet Minister and former Assembly Speaker Prem Chand Aggarwal had also indulged in hooliganism on the road, beating his own party worker in full public view, but no action was taken against him by the BJP. She further reminded that, in the presence of Minister Ganesh Joshi, his associates had beaten up a person badly, but Bhatt or his party did not take any action. She also accused an office bearer of BJP’s Mahila Morcha of involvement in a murder, but no action was taken against that BJP leader concerned.
Dasauni asserted that before opening his mouth regarding any MLA or official of the opposition, Mahendra Bhatt should have looked into his own affairs and maintain discipline within the party. She also criticised BJP for not organising any tribute on the first death anniversary of Ankita Bhandari, stating that Ankita was the daughter of Uttarakhand. She was treated unjustly and tortured and after that she was brutally killed by BJP. Dasauni said that, because of its small and evil mentality, today BJP stands completely exposed in Uttarakhand.
