DEHRADUN, 22 Apr: The Uttarakhand Congress has launched a mobile app with which people can report their difficulties during the present lockdown. This information will be passed on to the government.
This ‘Devbhoomi App’ has been developed keeping the difficulties of Uttarakhandis who are presently stranded in various parts of the country.
A press conference was held in this regard at the Congress State Headquarters, here, today. State President Pritam Singh targeted the state government on the occasion, while claiming that in this time of difficulty it was not the intention of his party to play politics. He alleged that, under the pressure of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujaratis stuck in Uttarakhand had been transported back to their home state, while nothing was being done for the residents of others states.
Asserting that the state government was sleeping at a time of crisis, Singh said this was why the Congress had to launch the Devbhoomi App. It would help stranded Uttarakhandis by collecting data and pressurising the government. People would be asked to send their names, addresses and nature of the difficulties being faced.
Pritam also claimed that the ‘Sonia Rasoi’ and ‘Indira Amma Canteen’ were providing cooked food to those in need. Where required, food materials were also being distributed, as also sanitiser and masks.
The App was launched jointly by State President Pritam Singh and Manish Khanduri, the son of former Chief Minister BC Khanduri. It was stated that every effort would be made to make the app available to the people.
