DEHRADUN, 2 Aug: Police has expelled a habitual offender from the district under the Goonda Act. The accused, named Firoz, son of Kabul Hasan, is a resident of Bada Bharuwala in Clement Town area. He has several criminal cases registered against him, including theft, burglary, and possession of illegal weapons.

According to the police, following the directions of SSP Dehradun, a report was prepared against Firoz under Section 3(1) of the Goonda Act and sent to the District Magistrate. After examining the report, the District Magistrate issued an order to expel the accused from the district for a period of 6 months.
Following the order, the police took Firoz to Asarori border and released him outside the limits of Dehradun district, into Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Police also clearly warned him not to enter Dehradun for the next six months.
Uttar Pradesh Police has been informed about Firoz’s criminal background and the expulsion order. The action is part of an ongoing campaign to take strict steps against repeat offenders in the district.
