My fellow travellers, your VISA to enter the next year has been approved!

Another year, another experience.

It is the last day of 2024 as I write this and the speeding cars outside our home have slowed, jamming the way to Mussoorie. Every year, as I have been told, this time of the year is the most difficult of all to navigate through Rajpur. Now, I know the pain.

Anyway, it is also that time of the year when cheer and wonder spreads around, and we all end up anticipating the start of the new year. Some of you must have already jotted down a few resolutions, some vacation plans, even plan Bs.

Excitement, energy and enthusiasm to ace the coming year last for a few days until work, study or life kick back into gear and before you know it, it is March already.

Let’s do it a little differently this time – reminders, realisations and redirections!

The new year will cruise in. Time will change. Things will work out for you. But you must take with you a part of this year into the next as a reminder of all that you know, all that you are. It can be anything – a souvenir, a lover, a piece of art that reminds you of home, a memory of someone you lost this year or a yearly family reunion to keep the bonds strong.

With another year, I take with me a strong and meaningful realisation – trust your instincts and be intentional.

Redirecting your life can become easy if you know ‘what you don’t want’ from yourself, people and life.

As the sun shines bright today and moods look better, I can, with much love in my thoughts and a natural smile, share the wonders this year has brought for me.

A loving lot of people I now call my world have embraced the most important phase of our lives with poise and kindness. The little one has given us such love and compassion that no other joy can ever compare to it. Dreams may sometimes bring out the best of moments but living those in reality shows that there are still people who go above and beyond to make life plausible.

You will be reading this in 2025, and I must tell you it was great getting to know you and becoming a part of your weekly reads in 2024.

Take with you a bit of the past year along with a mimosa or two.

Cheers for a great New Year!
