CS stresses on greater use of telemedicines



DEHRADUN, 16 Feb: Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu held a meeting with the officials regarding use of mobile health vans and telemedicine under the Health Department. The Chief Secretary noted that mobile health facilities and telemedicine be promoted to the maximum in order to provide health facilities in remote areas of the state.

He instructed the officers to prepare 100 percent saturation plan for mobile health and telemedicine facilities. He analysed the facilities being provided by NHM, Health Department and Hans Foundation in the field of mobile van facility and directed to identify the gaps and to fill them. The Chief Secretary said that the visits of mobile vans should be increased in those areas from where the health centres are far away. He said that increasing the certainty of visits of mobile vans, days should be fixed for each area. He said that a permanent monitoring and feedback system should be developed to ensure the reliability of mobile vans.

The Chief Secretary also discussed in respect of the utility of portable X-ray machines along with blood samples etc. in mobile vans. He said that a well-planned plan should be prepared to meet the needs of remote hills. Along with this, the efforts being made in the direction of telemedicine should be increased as much as possible. He said that while also exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence in the health sector, steps should be taken towards its use.

On this occasion, Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar and Director General Health Dr Vinita Shah along with other departmental high officials were also present.
