Dehradun, 28 Aug: Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar has directed preparation of a detailed action plan to prevent crimes against women in the state and to ensure more effective action.
In this regard, Director General Kumar has constituted a five-member committee headed by DIG, Crime and Law & Order, P Renuka Devi.
This committee will conduct a comprehensive study regarding the nature of crimes against women in the state, crime rate, identification of sensitive areas, reporting of crimes against women, and the status of investigation and disposal in the court, besides also gathering information about the assistance and services provided to the crime victims and the action being taken by the police to prevent crimes against women, awareness about crimes against women in society, requirement of infrastructural / human resources in the districts for control of crimes, etc. It will present a detailed report to the Director General of Police.
