Dhami Cabinet approves policy on Clean Urban Transport

Dehradun, 14 Mar: A meeting of the State Cabinet was held at the Secretariat here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Among the proposals that were approved by the cabinet today included approval of the Uttarakhand Clean Mobility Transportation Policy 2024 promulgated under Transport Department. In this respect, a pilot project will be operated in Dehradun under which City bus and Vikram operators will be encouraged to purchase environment friendly electric and CNG vehicles through subsidies, etc.

Secretary Shailesh Bagoli briefed the media regarding the cabinet decisions here today.

In addition, the cabinet also approved a manual related to Sanskrit Education in Uttarakhand. Some rules related to Van Panchayats will be amended after the proposal in this regard was today approved in the state cabinet. These rules are intended to be amended with the objective of promoting eco-tourism in the state and cultivation of herbs in the state.

A proposal regarding transfer of 0.9 hectares of land in Haridwar to the Haridwar Development Authority (HDA) was approved. This decision taken on the proposal of Urban Development Department has been taken to permit construction of Unity Mall in Haridwar under HDA.

The Cabinet also approved a proposal of the State Justice Department to create 18 new posts for family courts in Bageshwar, Champawat, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi. In addition, a proposal to set up more family courts in Dehradun, Haridwar and Roorkee was also approved by the cabinet and for this, the cabinet approved creation of 9 new posts.
