Dehradun, 24 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today held a public hearing at the Chief Sevak Sadan in his camp office where citizens from different parts of the state submitted their grievances and complaints. He listened to the issues with utmost seriousness and directed the officials to ensure that every matter is resolved with sensitivity, transparency and within a fixed timeframe so that people are not compelled to make unnecessary rounds of government offices.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM asserted that the state government is working on the principle of public welfare and good governance, and that quick disposal of public grievances remains among its highest priorities. He observed that the accountability of the administration will be meaningful only when citizens’ problems are addressed in a qualitative and time‑bound manner. The officials were today directed to examine each complaint carefully, take effective action as per rules and keep the complainant informed about the progress of resolution.
Stating that meeting the expectations of the people is the government’s responsibility, the CM asked every officer to work with the spirit of public service and demonstrate complete sensitivity and responsibility in resolving the issues faced by the people. He also made it clear that unnecessary delay in disposal of complaints would not be tolerated.
On this occasion, he instructed Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swaroop and IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop to ensure priority‑based disposal of the grievances received. He said matters that can be resolved at the district or departmental level should be settled immediately, while those requiring higher‑level decisions must be promptly referred to the departments concerned for further necessary action.
Dhami further directed that the system of public hearings be made more effective and result‑oriented so that every citizen of the state receives timely justice and relief.
