Dehradun, 24 Jan: Reiterating his claim of zero tolerance for corruption, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the immediate suspension of a DIG level rank officer and Director Home Guards (Deputy Commandant), Amitabh Shrivastava in connection with a scam related to the procurement of uniform material in the Home Guards and Civil Defence Department. The CM has also directed the formation of a joint investigation committee to probe the matter.
It may be remembered here that the case pertains to the procurement process for uniform material for Home Guards during the financial years 2024-25 and 2025-26, where allegations of financial irregularities in the tender process have emerged. A report sent to the government by the Director General, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Dehradun, highlighted a lack of transparency in the tender process and violations of rules.
Acting on the endorsement from the Director General, Dhami has suspended the Deputy Commandant with immediate effect and instructed the constitution of a joint investigation committee.
Dhami has once again reiterated that the state government is committed to a zero tolerance policy on corruption and no irregularity or corrupt conduct will be tolerated at any level. He emphasised that the strictest possible action will be ensured against any official or employee found guilty.
