Haridwar, 3 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today planted a Rudraksh sapling at the Mela Niyantran Bhawan complex in Haridwar under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, in an aim to stress on environmental preservation. On this occasion, emphasising that trees play a crucial role in mitigating global warming and restoring ecological balance, the CM noted that the initiative aims to inspire every individual to plant a tree in their mother’s honour, thereby transforming conservation into a mass movement by establishing an emotional connection. The CM also stressed that it is a fundamental duty to serve, both, one’s mother and mother nature, and such campaigns convey an important social message of environmental stewardship.

Following the plantation, Dhami also visited the Ganga Ghat near CCR and actively participated in a cleanliness drive, wielding a broom to reinforce the importance of sanitation. Here he stated that the state government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is unwavering in its efforts to realise the vision of Swachh Bharat (Clean India). He appealed to Kanwar Yatra devotees to uphold cleanliness during their pilgrimage and to remain conscious of hygiene and public decorum.
