Dehradun, 26 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today again targeted the Congress and the Samajwadi Party while participating in a Shobha Yatra organised by the Dehradun Municipal Corporation on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. Referring to remarks allegedly made by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Dhami said Yadav is calling the people of Uttarakhand “infiltrators” even though the Congress and the Samajwadi Party are political allies.

Questioning the Congress over the issue, the CM asked whether the party agrees with Akhilesh Yadav’s statement. He said that, if the Congress does not support the remarks, it should clarify its stand publicly. Dhami stated that, while the political alliances might have their own compulsions, the people of Uttarakhand have no such compulsion to allow any political force to establish itself in the state. He asserted that nothing is more important than the dignity, honour and pride of Uttarakhand.

Dhami also referred to the Muzaffarnagar, Mussoorie and Khatima firing incidents and reminded that these events had taken place during a period when the fathers of Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi were serving as Chief Minister and the PM, respectively. He said the people of Uttarakhand have not forgotten those incidents and the circumstances surrounding them.

Dhami further mentioned National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, noting that he was born in Uttarakhand and has dedicated his entire life to strengthening India’s security, enhancing the country’s capabilities and serving the nation. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi had also used objectionable language against Doval, but Congress leaders remained silent on the matter.

The CM said that, if Congress leaders do not agree with Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, they should come forward and clearly state their position. However, he alleged that they have chosen to maintain silence. Dhami said the people of Uttarakhand expect the political parties to respect the state’s identity, its distinguished personalities and its contribution to the nation.
