Uttarkashi, 6 Mar: During his visit to Harsil in Uttarkashi here today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again showcased his strong bond with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Throughout the visit, Modi was seen appreciating and encouraging Dhami, seizing every opportunity to commend his efforts. As soon as Dhami approached him after his own speech, Modi greeted him warmly with a handshake and followed it up with a reassuring pat on the back.
According to the BJP leadership, Dhami’s leadership and swift execution of key policies have been well received at the highest levels, particularly decisions like implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and hosting the National Games.
Today, Modi appeared to be satisfied with the state government’s efforts in promoting winter tourism and winter yatra. In his address, Modi repeatedly highlighted the economic benefits of winter yatra and tourism for Uttarakhand, calling it an innovative initiative. He also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and his administration for their dedication. Modi also stressed on year-round tourism and diversification of Yatra and tourism activities in the state.
In his address today, Modi also referred to him as a younger brother and as an energetic leader, emphasising his appreciation for Dhami’s governance. Reflecting on his Kedarnath visit, Modi reiterated that this decade belongs to Uttarakhand, crediting Dhami’s government for its commendable work in driving progress.
It may be recalled that during the public meeting in Harsil, Modi witnessed an overwhelming response from the locals. Enthusiastic chants of “Modi-Modi” echoed throughout the event, bringing a smile to his face multiple times. Acknowledging the crowd’s energy, he responded with folded hands in a gesture of humility. Dressed in traditional attire and a regional cap, Modi further connected with the audience by incorporating local dialects into his speech, reinforcing his deep connection with Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage.
