Dehradun, 19 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today held a telephonic conversation with Union Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav to discuss the increasing incidents of human–wildlife conflict in the state. During the discussion, the CM informed the Union Minister that the Forest Department and the district administration were taking effective measures to mitigate the problem and that necessary directions have been issued to control violent and aggressive wildlife posing a threat to human life.

Describing the situation as a serious challenge, Dhami sought additional resources and support from the Centre to address the issue more effectively. The CM said sustained efforts are required to reduce such incidents and to ensure the safety of people living in forest fringe areas. The Union Minister assured him of all possible assistance from the Central government and emphasised the need for scientific wildlife management, use of modern technology and a robust system for providing immediate relief in affected areas.

The CM expressed gratitude for the Centre’s support and reiterated that the state government is working with a balanced approach, ensuring both human safety and wildlife conservation. He said Uttarakhand is committed to protecting lives while preserving its rich natural heritage through coordinated and science-based interventions.
