Dehradun, 10 May: Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress President Karan Mahara today congratulated the people of the state on Akshaya Tritiya and the opening of the portals of Lord Kedarnath Jyotirlinga.
However, Mahara also accused Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of violating his own appeal issued to avoid VVIP darshans at the Char Dham for first 15 days. Mahara reminded that the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand Government has issued an order, in view of the convenience of the devotees, imposing a ban on VVIP darshan at the Char Dham shrines on first 15 days of the Yatra. He said it was improper of CM Dhami to obtain VVIP darshan at Kedarnath on the opening day.
Mahara asked why did Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, defying the orders of his own government, reach Kedarnath on the very first day of its opening. He claimed that this is an example of the double standards of the BJP. For the ruling party, the rules and the laws are meant for the common person only but the BJP leaders are allowed to violate them.
He said that, even before this, BJP leaders have broken the rules of governance many times. By getting photographs clicked in the sanctum sanctorum of Kedarnath temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also not only flouted the traditional rules many times but also deeply hurt the faith of the people who believe in Sanatan Dharma. He said that it becomes very clear that BJP leaders do not have faith in any religion; they only wear the cloak of religion to make political ends meet and show off.
Mahara claimed that, on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Uttarakhand government had also appealed through a letter to the Chief Secretaries of other states that VIP and VVIP darshan should be postponed for the first 15 days of the opening of the doors. The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has violated this order for which he should apologise to the people of the country and the state.
