Laksar (Haridwar), 2 Sep: Amidst continuous heavy rainfall and the ongoing crisis caused by natural calamities in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today visited the disaster-affected areas of Laksar in Haridwar district. Overcoming difficult conditions, he reached the rural and submerged areas on a tractor to conduct an on-the-spot inspection and, also to directly interact with affected families to understand their problems.
On this occasion, the CM instructed the district administration and disaster management officials present to immediately expedite relief and rehabilitation work. He emphasised that the safety, housing, food, and health facilities of the affected people must be ensured, and any negligence in relief work would not be tolerated.
Dhami asserted that the state government stands with every affected citizen in this hour of crisis. “We will provide all possible assistance, and rescue operations will be given priority. Every family affected by the disaster will be provided with all possible help from the government,” he emphasised.
During his inspection, the CM also visited the villages of Laksar to assess the waterlogging, damaged roads, broken bridges, and inundated houses. He spoke to the affected families and took note of their needs and assured them that there would be no shortage in relief efforts. He directed the officials to make adequate arrangements for relief camps with proper food, water, medicines, and sanitation, to shift families who need to be relocated to safe places, to quickly assess crop damage to farmers and start the compensation process promptly, and to provide medical facilities by setting up health camps as needed.
The officials claim that Dhami’s visit has sent a positive message to the local public, who have appreciated the promptness and sensitivity demonstrated by the government in this hour of crisis.
Also present on the occasion were MLA Pradeep Batra, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Dobhal, other district administration officials, and local residents.
