Digital Empowerment Programme concludes at U’chal University

DEHRADUN, 15 May: The Valedictory Ceremony of the “Digital Empowerment: Computer Fundamentals Training Programme” was organized by the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences in association with Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti at Uttaranchal University, here, today, to celebrate its successful completion. It was a 30-hour training programme. The efforts of volunteers, participating schools, and students were acknowledged on the occasion. The programme was conducted with the aim of promoting digital literacy and computer awareness among school students.

A total of 486 students from eleven schools participated in the training programme and gained knowledge related to computer fundamentals and digital skills.

Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat was the Chief Guest. MLA Khajan Das was also present. Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University, Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr RK Bakshi, President Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti, Jyostana Sharma, Vice President Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti, Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Director, and Vinayak Sharma Swami, President, JAI Youth Wing, were also present.

Dr Dhan Singh Rawat praised Uttaranchal University and the society for this remarkable initiative to prepare students for a technology-driven future, and highlighted the importance of digital and vocational education, emphasising the large-scale benefits for students in Uttarakhand, along with scholarships, financial incentives, and laptop support for academic excellence.

MLA Khajan Das encouraged students to enhance their digital skills and appreciated the organisers for this meaningful initiative towards student and societal development.

Special appreciation was also extended to Vinayak Sharma Swami, Manisha Khanduja, and student Coordinator Akash Singh Mehra for their valuable contributions and support throughout the programme.

Certificates were distributed to participants and volunteers during the ceremony.

The valedictory ceremony successfully concluded with the dedicated support of faculty members, student volunteers, including Prof Sameer Dev Sharma – HoD, USCS, Manisha Saini, Prof Monisha Awasthi, Divya Rawat, Deepak Pant, Sanjay Mishra, and Parminder Singh.
