Dehradun, 23 Aug: The annual Inter-School English Elocution Contest was held at the Doon Girls’ School, Dalanwala, today. The contest was held for the junior students of classes 3, 4 and 5 in individual and group categories.
Renowned educationist and the first ‘Mastermind India’, Dayita Datta was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The contest was judged by Aloka Niyogi, Natasha Verma, Hina Khan and Anita Roy.
Twenty-three well known schools of the city including Brightlands School, Welham Boys’ School, The Asian School, Scholars’ Home, Doon Girls & Doon Boys School, Beverly Hills School, Jaswant Modern School, Grace Academy, the Oasis, Raja Rammohan Roy Academy, the Indian Public School, Gyananda School, PYDS, John Martyn, Doon Presidency School, etc., participated.
The Doon International School City Campus teams successfully bagged the winning trophy by scoring the maximum overall marks in the different categories. In the class 3 group category, Brightlands stood first, Doon International, second, and Oasis, third. In the individual class 3 category, Jaswant Modern was first, Beverly Hills, second and Doon International, third. In the class 4 group category, Doon International was first, Gyananda, second, and Doon Presidency, third. In the class 4 individual category, Doon International stood first, Brightlands, second and, Doon Girls, third. In the class 5 group category, Welham Boys’ was first, Doon International, second, and Doon Girls, third. In the class 5 individual category, Doon Girls and Brightlands bagged the prizes. The Doon Boys, Grace Academy, John Martyn and Oasis were adjudged third.
