Dehradun, 9 Sep: A month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be organised from 15 September to 18 October 2026 with a focus on service, cleanliness, health, environment, innovation and public participation. The campaign aims to ensure active involvement of citizens in government schemes, developmental works and nation-building activities. The campaign is to be organised across the state.
In this regard, chairing a meeting with officials of line departments at the Collectorate auditorium, District Magistrate Dr Ashish Chauhan outlined the framework of the ambitious programme and issued necessary directions. He stated that special events such as ‘Bharat 2047’, ‘Seva aur Sapna’, ‘Namo 25 Gatha’, ‘Aangan ka Utsav’, ‘25 Saal–25 Kahaniyan’ and ‘Jan Kalyan Samvad’ will be organised. Educational institutions will host essay and painting competitions on the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’, while multilingual inspirational plays will be staged under ‘Namo 25 Gatha’.
It was stated that, during the first phase, intensive cleanliness drives would be carried out at government offices, schools, colleges, municipal bodies, hospitals, religious places and gram panchayats. Alongside, books on the life and works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be distributed to spread awareness about environmental protection. For the youth, hackathons, innovation challenges and short film contests will be held, while the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare will organise a grand relay marathon on 7 October to mark ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra Diwas’.
On 17 September, ‘Rangoli Rashtra’ will showcase India’s and Uttarakhand’s cultural and developmental journey through large-scale rangolis. Between 7 and 17 October, ‘Pragati ke 25 Stambh’ will be organised to highlight major projects including Kedarnath–Badrinath reconstruction, Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, Rishikesh–Karnaprayag rail project, Delhi–Dehradun expressway and Lakhwar and Jamrani dams through projection mapping, light shows and cultural programmes.
The campaign will also emphasise on ‘Project 25-25-25’, encouraging the citizens to dedicate at least 25 minutes daily to the activities such as cleanliness, tree plantation and digital literacy.
On this occasion, multi-purpose and medical camps will also be held to distribute artificial limbs to persons with disabilities, organise blood donation drives and provide fruits to hospital patients. On 2 October, Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti will be marked by pledges to adopt swadeshi and khadi, along with awareness programmes on ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Fit India’ activities in schools.
During the meeting today, the DM directed all the departments concerned to prepare programmes in coordination and ensure wide publicity so that the campaign takes the shape of a successful mass movement.
Among those present at the review meeting were Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, ADM (Administration) Smrita Parmar, District Information Officer Priyanka Joshi and other district-level officials.
