Doon Nagar Nigam intensifies anti encroachment drive

Dehradun, 22 May: Acting on the directions of Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal and Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal, Dehradun Municipal Corporation (Doon Nagar Nigam) today carried out a large-scale campaign across several areas to free government land from illegal occupation and encroachment. During the drive, unauthorised structures were demolished and corporation land was secured to ensure its protection.
At Dhoran Khas, khasra number 463, illegal boards, unauthorised plotting and a constructed wall on the corporation land were demolished, making the site completely encroachment-free. In ATS Colony, permission was issued for boundary wall construction to safeguard government land against future illegal occupation. In Harbhajwala, khasra numbers 2062, 2064 and 2065 saw demolition of an unauthorised road built on corporation-owned land.
The corporation also took action in mandi areas, issuing notices in ward number 98 at Mandi Bala Wala and in ward number 84 at Banjara Wala vegetable market. In Raipur Tapovan Road area, encroachment removal was also undertaken.
The officials have claimed that no illegal occupation, construction or encroachment on corporation or public land will be tolerated under any circumstances. They also add that the campaign against encroachment in the city will continue in a strict, effective and sustained manner to ensure Dehradun remains orderly and encroachment-free.
