Doon University bags 2nd Prize in Mime at National Youth Festival, Bangalore

Dehradun, 28 Feb: The Cultural Cell of Doon University qualified in two events, Mime and Kathak, at the North Zone AIU 2023 competition to participate for the National Youth Festival, AIU 2023, held in Jain University, Bangalore, from 24 to 28 February. A cultural contingent of 8 students and 5 accompanists headed by Team Manager Dr Ajit Panwar, also a faculty in the Department of Theatre and Folk Performing Arts, participated in the National Youth Festival and secured the second position in the Mime event.

As many as 120 universities had sent their teams from all over the country to participate in the National Youth Festival. The young energetic student team of silent acting comprised Siddharth Dangwal, Kanishka, Sardul, Yash, Prakhar, Ujjwal, Ayushman Chauhan and Shivangi Daivali.

The Team Manager shared, “It was an incredible experience for the entire team. Each team impressed with its dedication, sporting spirit, team management and skills. The cumulative energies of the Youth at one place were a spectacle to watch.” Unnati Badoni left the audience spellbound with her Kathak performance.

Vice Chancellor Prof Surekha Dangwal facilitated the team and boosted its morale. In her congratulatory note, Prof Dangwal reiterated that the team has set high standards for the future participants with its exceptional talent and passion.

Prof MS Mandrawal, Registrar, Prof HC Purohit, DSW, and university administration and faculty members have congratulated the team for the impressive performance. The team’s success in the National Youth Festival is a testimony to Doon University’s commitment to academic excellence and overall development of students.
