DEHRADUN, 23 Oct: On the third and final day started of Doon University’s annual festival, ‘Fyonli’, the literary event, Vagartha, was held. This included a debate on the topic: ‘This house believes that it is legitimate for women to hold themselves to the standards of men as opposed to ethical standards’; Aakar – a Clay Modeling competition on the topic ‘Women Empowerment’; and Kamayani- a poetry recitation competition on the topic ‘Zero’. These were followed by Ninad- Instrumental music competition; Thirak – Group Dance Competition; Chal- Chitra – Filmathon Competition; and Jhankar – a Band Per formance. The valedictory ceremony took place at the end of the day. The judges for the day were Anil Bharti, Senior Programme Executive, All India Radio (AIR), Dehradun; and educationist Kanchan Seth. Winners of all the three day events were felicitated by Vice Chancellor, Doon University, Dr CS Nautiyal, followed by the declaration of the ‘School Winner’ of the event based on the ranks of participants from every department/school. The Fest, which ended after 23 events involving 5 Clubs of Doon University, inculcated a sense of togetherness and team- spirit. The function was convened by Prof Dr Nitin Kumar, coordinator, and members Prof Dr Madhu Bisht, Prof Dr Vikas Sharma, Prof Chandrika Kumar, Prof Vaishali Aswal, Prof Jagriti Jaiswal and Prof Piyashi Himani of Cultural Committee, Doon University. Abhishek Bisht, Sonia Singh (Student Representatives, Cultural Committee), Yashee Singh, Deepak Thapliyal, Deeva Singh, Rahul Pandey, Himanshu Kothari, Ritika Chandola, Srijan Dangwal, Vivek Singh, Srijan Joshi, Ketan Gairola and Gatha Kukreti (Co- convenors, Cultural Committee) and all the volunteers were thanked for making the Fest a successful event.
