Dehradun, 24 May: The Investiture Ceremony was held today at DPS Vikas Nagar. The Principal bestowed upon the elected student body the titles and responsibilities of School Captains, Vice Captains, House Captains and Prefects.
The ceremony started with a Ganesha Vandana and students performed a classical dance in the honour of Lord Ganesha. The elected student body took an oath to be committed to their roles with integrity and compassion. Students assembled at the assembly ground to witness the ceremony and a live telecast was made available virtually to the parents.
The next part of the day was dedicated to the interhouse competition. The students participated in dance, singing, arts poetry and story-telling competitions. There was a sense of community that they showed throughout the competitions in which they were representing their respective houses. The interhouse competition was an adieu to students before the summer break.
In the last two sessions of the day, the award ceremony was conducted to reward and acknowledge all the academic scholars from Grade 1 to 8 who had shown exemplary performance in their academics last year. The winners of interhouse competitions were also given the awards and acknowledgement. All the students who were best performers received certificates from the Principal.
