Dehradun, 2 Sep: Chairperson of Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission, Dr Geeta Dawar Khanna, and member of the Commission Vinod Kaparwan, today visited journalist Yogesh Dimri admitted in AIIMS Rishikesh after being assaulted by alleged liquor mafia Sunil Kumar alias Ganja to enquire about his wellbeing.
On this occasion, Dr Khanna condemned the attack on Dimri and observed that media is the fourth pillar of democracy and such an assault on Dimri is highly condemnable. She also demanded that strict action should be taken against those who try to harm those who raise their voice for the society. Dr Khanna also observed that the Police department has taken one accused into custody. She expressed hope that the justice system will also determine appropriate punishment for such crimes very soon.
