Dehradun, 18 Aug: On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, the Intellectuals Foundation organised a cultural program “Ek Shaam Desh Ke Naam” at its office, here, where members of the Shrunkhala Musical Group filled the atmosphere with patriotic spirit through soulful songs.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the Foundation’s President, Dr Farooq and Brig KG Behl (Retd). Shilpa presented the Ganesh Vandana.
President Dr S Farooq and Secretary Harsh Nidhi Sharma welcomed all the guests with a tricolour stole. Afterwards, the musical evening began with Piyush Nigam from Shrunkhala Musical Group performing the patriotic song, “Bharat Ka Rehne Wala Hoon, Bharat Ki Baat Sunata Hoon”.
Manisha Aale’s performance of “Vande Mataram” was very emotional, while Ritika Agarwal’s rendition of “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, Zara Aankh Mein Bhar Lo Paani” moved everyone to tears. Following this, other members of the Foundation also sang various patriotic songs such as “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola” and “Chitthi Aayi Hai Aayi Hai”. Listening to these beautiful songs, the audience was immersed in devotion and patriotism. The programme continued for more than two hours and was videographed by Khushi Sharma.
Film producer Padam Singh Chauhan, senior journalist Gopal Singhal, Mukesh Handa, Krishna Sharma, singers Sandeep Singh, Sanjeev Verma, Jyoti, Sandhya Kala, and several other artists enhanced the patriotic atmosphere with their performances.
The Foundation President, Dr Farooq, expressed his gratitude to everyone on the occasion.
