Gives instructions to hold an exhibition of records and pictures based on state agitators

Maharaj conducts surprise inspection of state archives

DEHRADUN, 2 Sept: State Public Works, Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj, on Saturday, made a surprise inspection of the State Archives under the control of the Director General of Culture, located in Bhopalpaani. After a surprise inspection of the state archives, he directed the officials to fix the arrangements there and also to organize an exhibition of records and pictures based on the Uttarakhand state agitators.
Culture Minister Maharaj asked the officers to pay special attention to the repair of the State Archives building, the cleanliness of the toilets and protection and security of the records kept there. He has also called for the details of absent employees during the inspection.
Maharaj has given instructions to the officials to preserve important records in Ramgarh located in Nainital, giving information about the presence of important records in the hands of any person.
During the inspection, Secretary/Director General of Culture Department Harish Chandra Semwal, Assistant Director and in-charge of State Archives Virendra Narayan Singh, Technical Assistant (History) Manoj, and other officers were present.
