Gorakhpur is centre of spiritual & cultural consciousness: Gov Gurmit Singh

Gorakhpur, 10 Dec: Uttarakhand Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) participated as the Chief Guest in the Founder’s Day ceremony of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad held here today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, was also present. The Governor and the Chief Minister felicitated talented students who performed excellently in various competitions.

Addressing the students, teachers, and the gathering, the Governor said that Gorakhpur is not just a city but a significant centre of India’s spiritual, cultural, and national consciousness. Referring to the sacred land of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath and the heritage of the great saint tradition, he said that this land has, for centuries, inspired nation-building, righteousness, and human uplift.

Highlighting the glorious educational journey of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad since its establishment in 1932, the Governor said that the institution has given a new direction to education, culture, character-building, and nationalism in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Today, its expansion can be seen from primary schools to universities. He also appreciated the remarkable efforts of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University in providing education rooted in modern science and inspired by Indian values.

The Governor called upon the new generation to play a vital role in building a Developed India – 2047, to lead the country in fields such as technology, science, AI, cyber security, space, and green energy, and at the same time uphold Indian culture, sensitivity, and patriotism.

Referring to India’s global rise, scientific achievements, and cultural renaissance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor said that this is the era of India’s new awakening, which the youth will carry forward.
