Dehradun, 25 Dec: On the occasion of Christmas, today, a special programme was held at Raj Bhawan in which representatives from various churches in Dehradun participated. The event began with the cutting of the Christmas cake, followed by a melodious rendition of Christmas carols. Children and youth delivered exceptional performances during the carol singing. Representatives from St John’s Church, St Morrison Memorial Church, Central Methodist Church, and St Thomas Church participated in the carol singing.

Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) attended the event and extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to all. He stated that Christmas is a festival of love, compassion, and service, teaching us mutual harmony and unity. He described the occasion as an ideal opportunity to strengthen coordination and brotherhood among all religions and communities.

He added that Uttarakhand’s rich cultural and religious heritage inspires people to celebrate all festivals together, thereby fostering unity and brotherhood in society. At the conclusion of the programme, the Governor wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, expressing hope that the festival would bring joy, prosperity, and positive energy into everyone’s lives.
First Lady Gurmeet Kaur, St Joseph’s Academy Principal Brother Joseph M Joseph, renowned singer Bobby Cash, former Anglo-Indian MLA Greg Mann, Col S Washington, SP Paul, Vinita Lal, Nirmal Jacob, Rajni Washington, and other representatives of the Christian community were present on the occasion.
