DEHRADUN, 2 Dec: Governor Baby Rani Maurya today launched Uttarakhand’s first eco-friendly transportation mobile application – Green Rabbit – at the Raj Bhawan, with more than 100 people in attendance. This user-friendly application is available on Google Play Store for free download. The iOS version would be available very soon. The mobile application aims to make commuting easier for the public within the city at an economical price. The user can choose from the fleet of e- rickshaws, e-bikes, cabs, taxis or auto rickshaws. The application comes with a special feature – Pink Rabbit – where female commuters can book a ride with the female drivers. This feature aims at promoting women empowerment by providing them more employment opportunities. Governor Maurya said, “With the launch of Green Rabbit, the people of Uttarakhand can now travel anywhere at an economical price, thereby reducing the carbon footprint. I really hope that this application is well received by the masses.” Commenting on the launch, Dr Alok Drolia, Chairman, Green Rabbit, declared, “I am happy that Green Rabbit has been officially launched by the Governor. With this launch, we are one step closer towards cleaner and greener environment. We plan to spread our wings in all the major towns of Uttarakhand and the rest of India in the near future.” “If we want our future generations to breathe clean and survive, we need to focus on cleaner energy immediately. Otherwise, we would find them making space for themselves in some other planet!” said Rajiv Chirania, Co-Founder, Green Rabbit.
