Nainital, 8 Jun: As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme has commenced in Uttarakhand.

Beginning Monday, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) started distributing enumeration forms door-to-door to all voters in Nainital district. The formal launch of the campaign took place at Lok Bhavan, where the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) handed over an enumeration form to Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd).

Officials stated that, under the Special Intensive Revision program, BLOs will visit every voter’s household to distribute enumeration forms and verify and update voter details according to the prescribed procedures.

The initiative is an important step toward making the electoral roll more accurate, updated, and error-free, ensuring that all eligible citizens are properly included in the voter list.

The event was attended by Deepak Rawat, Reena Joshi, Vivek Rai, and Nawazish Khalik.
