DEHRADUN, 21 Oct: Governor Baby Rani Maurya said, today, that students should participate in social work. They should teach the children of slums and weaker sections once a week as community service. The Governor expressed these views during a meeting with visiting girl students of Ecole Globale School on Monday at the Raj Bhawan, here. Students of Ecole Globale asked questions regarding the successful personal and public life of the Governor. Answering a question on taking up politics as a career before being appointed Governor, Maurya said she considered politics as a medium of social service not as a career. Everybody ought to internalise the idea of service of the nation and society. Students also needed to give importance to ethics and moral values along with good education. Students ought to read good books and take inspiration from good people. She wished the students a successful and bright future. Students Sudiksha Rana, Ayat Azim, Nitya, Sneha, Jiya, Himangi, Ankita, Ashi Khetan and teacher Rupa Gusain were among those present.
