Also present was Kuldeep Rawat, who had contested the 2022 assembly elections from Kedarnath as an independent but had joined the BJP some time ago.
Addressing a public rally after the nomination, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami asserted that development projects worth hundreds of crores of rupees have been announced for the Kedarnath assembly constituency, and these are making rapid progress. Dhami also stated that his party will go among the public on the issue of development in this byelection. He claimed that the opposition is making baseless allegations just to bake its political bread, but the public can easily see through this. The nefarious intentions of the Congress would not be fulfilled. He asserted that the BJP candidate would win this seat with a one-sided margin of victory.
Dhami said after the nomination that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the reconstruction work in Kedarnath Dham, many development projects have been undertaken to make the journey smooth and safe, which would pave the way for an unprecedented increase in the number of devotees in the coming time. With this, the local people would also get increased livelihood opportunities. The CM claimed that the BJP government is working dedicatedly for the uplift of all sections of society in the state. Today, every person in society is benefiting from the welfare policies of the double-engine government. He expressed confidence that the people of Kedarpuri would ensure a huge win for the BJP and wholeheartedly support Asha Nautiyal.
During a public meeting organised in support of BJP candidate Asha Nautiyal in Ukhimath, Rudraprayag, the CM appealed to the local people to give a massive majority to the BJP in the upcoming by-election in Kedarnath Assembly on 20 November and make Asha Nautiyal victorious by a huge margin. On this occasion, Dhami also remembered the late Shaila Rani Rawat, whose passing away resulted in the bypoll on this constituency. He said that Shaila Rani Rawat always prioritised the development of Kedarnath. The CM also reminded that he had pledged before the people of Kedarnath that until the area gets a new MLA, he would serve Kedarnath as an MLA, and with this spirit, many development works are being conducted in the area.
The CM also claimed that, while the BJP government is moving on the path of development, the Congress has been promoting appeasement and corruption. Congress has always worked to divide society by engaging in caste politics. During the rule of Congress, new scams surfaced every day. The Congress even tried to spread lies in the name of Baba Kedar, such as the rumour of building a second temple of Kedarnath in Delhi. To stop this lie, the government has issued clear orders that temples cannot be built elsewhere in the name of Char Dham and famous temples of Uttarakhand.
Dhami said that the government is fully alert to stopping the demographic change in the state, and strict monitoring is being done in this direction. Strict action is being taken on acts like land jihad and spit jihad.
