Sampark Foundation to install Educational Smart TVs in 4,337 schools of U’khand

Dehradun, 10 Sep: Founder Chairman of Sampark Foundation, Vineet Nair called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence here today. Nair shared with the CM that to improve education in Uttarakhand, the Sampark TV Smart School programme will be expanded to 4,337 government schools. This would directly benefit about 2.5 lakh children of the state, he claimed.
The CM expressed his gratitude to Nair and observed that it is a very commendable initiative taken by the Foundation. He added that the government is paying special attention to the use of modern technology in education. Sampark Foundation has provided excellent content through educational videos based on the National Education Policy for the children in government schools. Dhami also claimed that continuous efforts are being made to improve the quality of education in the state.
Nair shared that, under this programme, schools are being provided 43-inch TV sets and TV devices (Android set-up box and remote) free of cost by Sampark Foundation. The devices are loaded with 1,000 hours of interactive educational content, 500 lesson plans, game-based assessments and educational videos for students of classes 1 to 8. This device works without internet and requires internet only to update the content from time to time. He also informed that, earlier, a Sampark TV pilot programme had been launched in Champawat in May 2023, and it had yielded better academic results. On the basis of which, this programme is now being expanded to all the districts of the state. He said that Sampark Foundation has been partnering with the Education Department of Uttarakhand since 2014 and has invested Rs 75 crores for this programme.
Secretary, Education, Ravinath Raman, current chairman of Sampark Foundation Dr Rajeshwar Rao were also among those present on this occasion.
