DEHRADUN, 21 Sep: Law College Dehradun faculty of Uttaranchal University organized a grand fresher welcome party today at its sprawling campus. Vice Chairperson of Uttaranchal Univeristy, Anuradha Joshi was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Students from across the country admitted to Uttaranchal University gave birth to a cosmopolitan culture as students were full of enthusiasm and vigour. As the theme of party was ‘Retro’ hence the student wore the dresses of 1980’s. The programme was inaugurated with lighting of auspicious lamps. Then began a series of splendid performances. Prithvi, Astika and Vibha presented Saraswati Vandana followed by Junior and Senior bollywood dance performed by Supriya and Neha groups respectively. Non-stop contemporary Dance ‘Rocking Girls’ playmigo and Kanishka Negi group’s Garhwali dance were also star attractions of the event. Spell bounded the audience At length, the usual Punjabi Bhangara by Kanishka Kaur and subsequent ramp walk frenzied the audience. Chancellor Jitender joshi said that law students are not only proving their mettle in the courts but also performing splendidly in cultural programmes. “Today’s scenario is dominated by all rounders and students must have extra- curricular participation along with studies”, he observed. Principal Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna stated that legal field provides enormous opportunities. “Students of the college have been regularly cracking judicial services examinations which propelled students from across the country to opt Law College Dehradun”, he remarked. Overwhelmed with the performances of students, Chief Guest, Anuradha Joshi thanked the cultural committee of the college for their exquisite presentation. Ananya Gusain and Akshat Goyal were selected as Ms. & Mr. Freshers 2019 Those present on the occasion were Vice Chancellor Prof. N. K. Joshi, Registrar Ajai Singh, Beena Bahuguna, Jagdish Joshi, Rajiv Kukretti, Dr. Pradeep Suri, Dr. S. K. Shah, Dr. J. P. Mishra, Dr. Manish Badoni, K. B. Pokhriyal, Dr. Poonam Rawat, Kanchan Anand, Kumar Ashutosh, Dr. V. Bhuvneswari, Dr. Lakshmi Priya, Dr. Rachna Sharma, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, Razit Sharma and hundreds of students.
