Gursikh Education Society receives Sikh Achievers Award 2024

Dehradun, 9 May: Gursikh Education Society was awarded the Sikh Achievers Award 2024, recently, at a function organised by Sat Sri Akal Charitable Trust, Mumbai. The award was given for its services in the field of uplifting economically weaker sections of society through education over the last 15 years in and around Dehradun.

The Society President S Devender Singh Bindra is working with a vision to develop persons who are academically empowered and become capable and responsible citizens with strong moral values. He lays stress on imbibing in students the spiritual values as laid down by Guru Nanak – Kirat Karo, Naam Japo and Vand Chakho. The society has been helping students of families living in marginalised condition with School and College fees, books, uniforms, etc. The society also counsels students on various skill development programmes run by the Government of India.

In the present, many students after completing their studies are working with prestigious companies and are contributing to the society. Their contributions are about 25% of the total donations received.

The programme will be telecast on PTC Punjabi Channel on 12 May at 7 p.m.
