Dehradun, 12 Jul: Uttarakhand BJP has appointed young BJP leader and senior journalist Harish Chamoli as new head (Convenor) of the State Media Contact Department of the state unit. This move is being seen as a significant organisational move aimed at sharpening its communication strategy ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The appointment, issued with the consent of State President Mahendra Bhatt, is seen as a strategic step to strengthen coordination between the government and the organisation while enhancing the effectiveness of the party’s media wing.
The decision is part of a broader organisational exercise under which convenors have been deployed across 15 key departments to prepare the groundwork for the forthcoming elections. With this responsibility, Chamoli is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring that the party’s welfare schemes, development initiatives and organisational activities are communicated factually and effectively to the public, while countering opposition propaganda with clarity and precision.
Expressing his gratitude to the party leadership, Chamoli claimed that the trust reposed in him by the party would be honoured with complete sincerity, dedication and commitment. He described the assignment not merely as a mark of respect but as a challenge to build a strong bridge between the people and the party.
Speaking to Garhwal Post, Chamoli emphasised that the BJP is not confined to the politics of power but is the world’s largest cadre-based organisation working on the principle of nation first and the resolve of Antyodaya. He added that his foremost priority would be to ensure that the government’s welfare schemes and development works reach the grassroots without distortion.
Chamoli further claimed that he would work in team spirit with senior leaders, experienced office-bearers and dedicated workers to establish transparent and effective coordination between the party and the media. He expressed confidence that, with collective effort, the organisation would be further strengthened. His supporters have congratulated him for the new assignment. It may be pointed out here that Harish Chamoli is a senior journalist and is the Editor of Chamoli Times, a well known publication from Chamoli district.
