SRINAGAR GARHWAL, 24 Jan: Sometimes, it is not authority but compassion that makes headlines. Such a moment was witnessed today when Uttarakhand Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat was traveling from Dehradun to Srinagar (Garhwal) for an official program.
Near Singtali on the Rishikesh–Kaudiyala road, during the moving convoy, the minister noticed a road accident where a young motorcyclist lost control and collided with a roadside stone, getting injured.
Recognizing the seriousness of the incident, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat immediately halted his convoy and personally checked on the injured youth. Initial assessment revealed that the young man’s condition was stable.
As a precaution, the Health Minister personally called the ambulance service. However, the youth assured him that he was fine, expressed gratitude to the minister, and wished to proceed to the hospital with his companion on his own.
Only after confirming that the youth had safely departed for medical care did Rawat resume his journey to Srinagar to continue his scheduled program.
