Dehradun, 31 Jan: In a significant step towards strengthening rural livelihoods and promoting local products, the Uttarakhand Gramya Vikas Samiti (UGVS) has partnered with Indian Oil Corporation Limited to expand HILANS outlets across the state. The initiative, part of Indian Oil’s Non-Fuel Retail strategy, will see rural entrepreneurs supported under the Rural Enterprise Acceleration Programme (REAP) operated HILANS outlets and cafés at select retail locations.
In Dehradun district, Bandal Ghati Cluster Level Federation (CLF) from Raipur block under REAP Dehradun has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil to establish a HILANS outlet near Sahastradhara. The agreement was formally signed by the CLF President on behalf of the federation.
Officials stated that the collaboration will not only provide customers with enhanced amenities at Indian Oil retail outlets but also create new market opportunities for rural producers. By showcasing and selling locally made products, the outlets aim to boost income for village-level entrepreneurs while offering consumers authentic regional goods.
The expansion of HILANS outlets is expected to serve as a model for inclusive development, combining corporate support with grassroots entrepreneurship to strengthen Uttarakhand’s rural economy.
