Nainital-US Nagar candidate Ajay Bhatt files nomination’

By Arun Pratap Singh

Rudrapur, 27 Mar: The BJP candidate from Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha constituency, Ajay Bhatt, filed his nomination papers at the district collectorate, here, today. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna and local MLA Shiv Arora were also present.

Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami claimed that BJP candidates will register a huge victory on all the five seats of Uttarakhand. He said that, this time, the discussion in the country is not about which government will be formed but whether the NDA Government will be formed with over 410 or 420 seats or not.

Earlier, Ajay Bhatt left his residence in Haldwani this morning after offering prayers at the temple located in his house. CM Dhami and supporters were present outside the gate of the nomination venue in Rudrapur.

CM Dhami said that, this time, BJP candidates will win all five Lok Sabha seats with a huge number of votes.

Dhami claimed that there is a lot of enthusiasm among the people of Uttarakhand regarding the Lok Sabha elections. He said that everyone is waiting for 19 April, the polling day.  While the festival of Holi has been celebrated only days before, the state and the country will be celebrating Diwali on 4 June, this year, when the results will be declared. Narendra Modi will take oath as Prime Minister for the third time. Speaking on the Congress tickets, CM Dhami claimed that, earlier, lobbying through one’s sources and contacts in the party was crucial to get the party ticket. Now the same people were lobbying through their sources and contacts not to get the Congress ticket. The CM said that the country knows whose government is going to be formed this time.

After filing his nomination, BJP candidate Ajay Bhatt said that he would win the election quite comfortably. He stated that as Union Minister of State for Defence and Tourism, he worked hard to bring many projects and schemes to Uttarakhand. During his tenure as a local MP and as a Union Minister, he kept in constant touch with the people of the state. Based on the feedback he has received, he could confidently say that the people of the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar Lok Sabha seat would also play a contributory role towards fulfilling BJP’s target of 400 plus seats by making him victorious.

It may be recalled that in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Ajay Bhatt had defeated his nearest rival and veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat by a margin of over 3 lakh votes, which is a record margin of victory in Uttarakhand.

Earlier, during his one-day visit to Haldwani and Rudrapur, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the house of the Party’s District Vice President of SC Morcha Jeevan Chandra Arya during the course of his morning walk and enquired about the Arya family’s well-being. He also discussed election related issues with Arya and sought his feedback on the ground realities in the constituency.  Arya assured the CM about Ajay Bhatt’s victory.

Before the filing of nomination, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a series of meetings with party leaders and workers, here, today. CM Dhami also met the party workers and office staff at the party office in Haldwani and enquired about their well-being and extended Holi greetings. CM Dhami called upon the BJP workers and office- bearers to treat the Lok Sabha elections as a personal campaign. He stressed that the relevant information and awareness about development schemes and projects of the Central and State Governments should reach every citizen. He asked the party workers to specially meet the beneficiaries of these schemes.
