Dehradun, 7 Mar: Two officers of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) in Uttarakhand have been finally promoted, with orders issued at the government level. It may be recalled that the DPC of these officers had already been conducted, but in view of pending inquiries, they had been denied promotion till now. But they have been finally promoted just ahead of Holi. In addition, the Forest Department has also allocated batches to a group of State Forest Service officers upon their promotion to the IFS cadre.
Two officers of the Indian Forest Service, who were waiting for a long time, have been finally promoted. They are TR Biju Lal and Sandeep Kumar. TR Biju Lal is a 2004 batch IFS officer. He has been given notional promotion to the post of Chief Forest Conservator. Although TR Biju Lal was already a CCF level officer, but due to investigation pending against him in a case, he could not get promotion earlier. During the DPC conducted some time ago, his sealed envelope was also opened and finally his promotion as CCF level officer was approved after he received a clean chit in the investigation against him.
At the same time, a 2011 batch IFS officer, Sandeep Kumar has also been promoted. Currently Sandeep Kumar is on deputation, he has got proforma and notional promotion.
This apart, 7 officers of the State Forest Service in the Forest Department have also got the selection and the batch year after being promoted to the Indian Forest Service. Five of them have been given IFS 2021 batch year while the remaining two have been given 2023 batch IFS cadre. Karuna Nidhi Bharti, Umesh Chandra Tiwari, Naveen Chandra Pant, Prakash Chandra Arya and Rangnath Pandey have got the 2021 selection year. Similarly, Devi Prasad Baluni and Dhruv Singh Martolia have been given the 2023 selection year. The Union Ministry of Forest and Environment has issued a notification in this regard.
