Mussoorie, 14 Jan: The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), took action against illegal construction at Tundhar Gajji Bend, Village Karkuli, on the Dehradun-Mussoorie road. The sealing of the property took place under the leadership of AE, MDDA, SS Rawat with a heavy police force. The construction was underway without permission from the department. The owners were told not to continue with the construction.
Rawat said notice had been served on the owners regarding the illegal construction but there was no response from them, leading to the sealing drive on the instructions of MDDA Joint Secretary and SDM Mussoorie Minakshi Patwal. The owner had appealed in the court of Garhwal Commissioner, but no relief was provided. After this, the order on sealing was followed by the officials of MDDA.
On the other hand, many illegal constructions are going on in town unabated regarding which no action has been taken. On being questioned, AE SS Rawat admitted illegal construction was going on in various large hotels and other areas and that notices had also been served on them. Appropriate action would be taken once the decision was taken by the SDM. Assistant Engineer TS Panwar, Supervisor Sanjeev, Uday Singh, Manoj Joshi and Kundan Rawat were also present at the site during the sealing.
