Mussoorie, 16 Jun: After the closure of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre in Mussoorie, there has been a huge increase in the number of stray dogs, which has caused concern among local residents. Regarding this problem, Municipal Councillor Jasbir Kaur submitted a memorandum to the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council, Rajneesh Dobriyal, in his office, today, demanding the reopening of the ABC Centre. The closure of Centre in Mussoorie has caused a hindrance in the process of sterilisation and vaccination of stray dogs.

Local residents say that the increasing number of dogs has increased the incidents of dog bites. Jasbir Kaur handed over a memorandum to the Executive Officer and demanded reopening of the ABC Center. She said that there is a pile of garbage near the FRF Centre and Biomethane Plot near the ABC Centre, due to which the doctors and staff are not able to reach the Centre.

Executive Officer Dobriyal said that the ABC Centre will be reopened soon, and action is ongoing. He has appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the sterilisation team so that the process can be completed successfully.
