DEHRADUN, 26 Aug: Kanchan Chaudhary Bhattacharya, famous as Uttarakhand’s top cop and India’s first woman DGP, breathed her last this evening in Mumbai. She had been ailing for many months. When she was appointed DGP, the then Chief Minister had amply made it clear that she had been enlisted to inject fresh blood into a malfunctioning system. And she didn’t disappoint and went about her task in a planned and systematic manner. She put in place proactive measures with good intention, hard work and sensitivity and gave the state a clean administration. She will be greatly missed by scores of her fans.
